We are pleased to include a series of rarely seen works on paper by Willem Strydom (1954 - 2019), who was best known for his marble, granite and bronze sculptures. These works were discovered in his studio outside Nieuwoudtville in the Northern Cape after his death in 2019. Strydom first came to prominence in the 1970’s and 80’s. His first solo exhibition was held in 1977 and he was subsequently included in the South African Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 1993. Rarely exhibited during his lifetime - his last Public Exhibition was held at The Rupert Museum in 2011.
